Official Guide to 2015 Salem Haunted Happenings now available

2015 Salem Haunted Happenings Guide The 35th Annual Salem Haunted Happenings festival will feature a month of programs and events to suit all ages and interests.  From psychic fairs to costume balls, children’s parades to ghost stories, historical reenactments to haunted houses, the city of Salem will once again put on its best face forward and welcome the world to celebrate Halloween and Fall in New England.

New for 2015, the Peabody Essex Museum will be featuring Theo Jansen’s "Dream Machines" in Strandbeest, The Golden Girls Live all male drag parody will present the “Lost” Salem Halloween episode, and Far from the Tree Cider will unveil their new tap room with apple-pressing demonstrations and tastings.  Families will be able to celebrate all things Small at the PEM/PM evening party, and the Salem Witch Museum will be looking back at how Samantha bewitched Salem during the filming of “Bewitched” in the early 1970s.

Fan-favorite events including the Hawthorne Hotel’s Halloween Party, the Official Salem Witches Ball, the Haunted Biz Baz Street Fair, and Professor Wunder’s School of Magic return this year, rounding out a robust calendar.  The annual MDA Harley Davidson Ride, Spirits of the Gables, and Family Film Nights on Salem Common are scheduled, as well, and it will all conclude on Halloween night with fireworks above Salem’s North River. The annual Festival of the Dead will return in 2015, as well, with its daily Psychic Fair, Séances, lectures, and parties.  

In addition to special events, visitors will find many of Salem’s museums and attractions have extended hours during October.  Special Haunted Happenings programming can be found at the Witch House, The House of the Seven Gables, Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery, Pioneer Village: Salem 1630, and the Salem Wax Museum.

•    Apple Pressing Demonstrations hosted by Far from the Tree Cider
•    Golden Girls Live on Stage – a male drag review presenting the “Lost Halloween Episode.”    
•    PEM/PM Evening Party Series presents “Small Worlds” on Thursday, October 15.
•    Pirates & Privateers Walking Tour at Gallows Hill Museum/Theatre
•    Pumpkin Palooza on the Salem Common, hosted by B&S Fitness
•    “Samantha Bewitches Salem” lecture and discussion about the filming of the Salem episodes of Bewitched hosted by the Salem Witch Museum
•    Shipwrecked in Salem! Presented by the Haunted Dinner Theatre
•    Strandbeest, the Dream Machines of Theo Jansen will be on display at the Peabody Essex Museum throughout the month.
•    Tent Talks at the Salem Witch Trials Memorial return with four new topics on Thursdays in October, hosted by the Salem Award Foundation.
