While Salem may be world-renowned for its frightful Halloween festivities, locals know that there’s a magic all its own to spending Valentine’s Day in “Witch City”. There are plenty of cute cafes perfect for first dates downtown and, of course, the Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate and Ice Sculpture Festival will be in full swing. But, for those who are looking to celebrate the most romantic weekend of the year like Mortitia and Gomez Addams might, there’s a sufficiently spooky event in store…

Prefer a moonlit stroll through the cemetery to a sunset walk along the beach? Like your roses for the thorns? You’re going to fall head-over-heels for The Anti-Valentine’s Tour presented by Salem Night Tour.

This seasonal spin on The Salem Night Tour runs on the evenings of February 10th-14th and  focuses on tales of tainted love, murderous marriages, and romances gone wrong in Witch City’s history. A no-holds-barred, tongue-and-cheek retaliation to all the white-laced lovey-dovery of the “hallmark” holiday, this spicy exploration of Salem’s past is equal parts entertaining and educational. It serves up the perfect blend of hilarity and horror, ideal for grim-humored audiences hankering for a good laugh. And this February, it returns for its sixth consecutive year with a brand new twist! For the first time ever, attendees can look forward to hearing these spooky stories from the comfort of a cozy trolley…

Yes, The Anti-Valentine’s Tour has wheels this year! The Salem Night Tour has officially partnered with The Salem Trolley, making for a match as perfect as red wine and dark chocolates. The evening will begin at 127 Essex Street, in the beating heart of the city. The trolley will roll right up and guests will be invited to step out of the cold and climb aboard with hot cocoa in hand. Then, all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy this unique exploration of the historic downtown district, led by a pair of expert, wise-cracking guides. The route will weave its way past haunted hotels, Puritanical architecture, and majestic 19th century mansions straight off the cover of a Gothic Romance. And since the tour will be covering more ground than ever before, returning guests can look forward to a whole bouquet of fresh, frightful stories, along with their old favorites.
