Kids to Parks Day: Painting to Save the Sea

May 18 @ 9:45 am - 12:00 pm

On this day, join the 1-million + people at hundreds of national, state, and local parks, and public lands across the country taking part in the 9th annual Kids to Parks Day!

At Salem Maritime, we are participating in Kids to Parks Day by celebrating the vibrant and beautiful waterfront of Salem Sound! Our oceans and marine life are in danger and need your help! Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges of our time, but YOU have the power to have a positive effect on the world’s environment!

Join Park Rangers for a special program to learn about marine debris, recycling, and actions you can take to save the world! Visual artist, Rebecca Plummer Rohloff, will then lead a fun and meaningful painting activity!

This workshop is for children ages 10-16 and is free! Space is limited; reservations are required. To register, email maryann_zujewski@nps.gov or call (978) 578-1642. Meet at Waite & Peirce, 193 Derby St, Salem. All supplies are included but wear clothes that can get paint on them.
