Lighthouse Lovers on Bakers Island

Join author and fellow lover of the light, Jeremy D’Entremont on a special excursion out to Bakers Island Light Station, a historic property owned by Essex Heritage. This 3.5 hour special trip includes the boat ride aboard Naumkeag where you’ll get up close photo opportunities of FIVE lighthouses; Derby Wharf, Fort Pickering Light on Winter Island, Hospital Point, Marblehead, and we will disembark for a tour of the remote Bakers Island Light. If you have a U.S. Lighthouse Society Passport book, you could obtain stamps for each of the five lighthouses as well. Jeremy’s books The Lighthouse Handbook: New England and The Lighthouses of Massachusetts will be available for sale and he will also be signing copies you may already have!
About Jeremy D’Entremont
Jeremy D’Entremont has been called the leading expert on New England’s historic lighthouses. He is the author or co-author of more than 15 books and hundreds of articles about lighthouses and maritime history. He is the president and historian for the American Lighthouse Foundation and the founder and chairman of Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses. He has appeared on the History Channel, the Travel Channel, Public Television, and National Public Radio speaking about lighthouses and other subjects, and has given lectures all around New England.
