Hosted by the National Park Service, the Salem Maritime Festival takes place on the historic wharves and grounds of Salem Maritime National Historic Site on Derby Street.
This year’s 2–day festival offers an exciting array of activities, demonstrations, and exhibitors including international musicians & dancers, local sea shanty singers, maritime trades and craft demonstrations, free harbor tours and so much more! The 2019 Salem Maritime Festival poster, created by Montserrat College of Art student Rebecca Jones, features a colorful and eye-catching design highlighting Friendship of Salem. This is the second year that Salem Maritime collaborated on the poster with Beverly’s Montserrat students under the leadership of their graphic design professor, Jesse Kahn.
