Salem Restaurateur George Carey today announced that the sixth annual Holiday Marketplace will take place at Finz Seafood and Grill and Sea Level Oyster Bar on Saturday, November 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Holiday Marketplace, an initiative that aims to highlight local artisans and small businesses that often compete with big business during the holiday season, will feature 23 local vendors between the two Pickering Wharf restaurants.

Carey, of Salem, encourages his fellow community members to do their holiday shopping at the Marketplace this year to directly support the participating local artisans and small business owners.

“I’m proud to bring back our Holiday Marketplace for a sixth year and look forward to continuing our tradition of supporting local artists,” said Carey. “The Marketplace offers the community a fun way to kick start their holiday shopping and drives foot traffic to downtown Salem after Halloween. Guests can also enjoy seasonal cocktails or local brews while browsing unique and one-of-a-kind items made on the North Shore.”

On the day of the Marketplace, business owners and artisans from Salem, Beverly, Lynn, Marblehead, Swampscott, and other North Shore communities will pop up at the two restaurants.

While guests shop, they have the opportunity to purchase seasonal cocktails, local brews, soft drinks, and order lunch at Finz, at 86 Wharf Street, and Sea Level, at 94 Wharf Street in Salem.

The Holiday Marketplace, which is free and open to the public, has been organized by the Assistant General Manager of Finz, Matt Dorman, since 2007. Dorman owns and operates a small boutique floral arrangement and holiday and event design business.

“As a small business owner, I understand how hard it is to compete with big corporations, especially during the holiday season, “said Dorman. “Please consider attending the Holiday Marketplace this year. It’s the perfect way to kick off your holiday shopping.”
