About

Upon his death, Salem’s Nathaniel Hawthorne asked his friends and family to destroy all personal letters between them. Some of them complied, but many letters survive to this day, revealing the true nature of one of our greatest American authors. The famous author of The Scarlet Letter (1850) and The House of the Seven Gables (1851) had quite a lot of snarky comments to say about people he encountered. Some of it will shock you, while some of it will make you laugh. Come along on this walking tour given by Nathaniel Hawthorne (writer/actor Bob Gautreau seen on HBO & America’s Got Talent) and witness the life, loves and locations of Salem’s most celebrated author.
Tickets are $20. One show only May 30, 2021 at 2 p.m.
Tour leaves at 8 Central Street
Tickets available online.
