Trees & Plants of Broad Street Cemetery: An Evening Stroll
August 21 @ 6:30 pm
Come join us! Invite your friends and neighbors!!
In 1910 city planner Harlan Kelsey called lower Broad Street the only properly parked neighborhood in the City of Salem. Later, he tried to recreate that wide grassy look when he drew plans for the Dalton Parkway and Hawthorne Boulevard.
Join Carolyn Ross and Chris Burke for a stroll on around the Broad Street Cemetery and immediate neighborhood to observe and comment on the legacy trees, shrubs and plants that continue to make this one of the most beautiful places in Salem.
Meet at 5 Broad Street parking lot at 6:30 pm on Aug 21, 2019
