Salon des Refuses | Saturdays & Sundays through July 28
In 1863 the most prestigious exhibition in Paris, the Paris Salon, rejected art work in the new Impressionist style. Manet, Courbet, Whistler and Pissaro were among the rejected artists. In protest they exhibited their work in their own exhibit, the now famous “Salon des Refuses." In recognition of the fact that a lot of wonderful work doesn’t get accepted into art exhibits, the Salem Arts Association is holding their holding our own “Salon Des Refuses.”

Salem Farmers Market | Thursdays through October 10
A tradition that dates back to 1634. Visit Derby Square Thursdays from 3-7 pm and shop local produce, seafood, meats, baked goods, and more.

Salem Maritime National Historic Site will be hosting a marathon read of The House of the Seven Gables at our museum campus. Join us from the beginning or stop by to listen as the novel progresses.

EAGLE, also known as “America’s Tall Ship” is the largest tall ship flying the Stars and Stripes and the only square-rigger in U.S. government service.

Most of Salem's museums and attractions are currently open for the season with exceptions listed below. Find a complete list of things to do in Salem here. 

Many walking tours run year-round and others run by appointment or with groups only depending on the season, and the Salem Trolley runs daily 10:00 am-5:00 pm (last full tour at 4:00 pm, closed Easter Sunday). View a complete list of walking tours in Salem here.
