North Shore Pride is back this June

This June North Shore Pride is back in Salem Massachusetts with a plethora of activities centered around community and conscious allyship. Starting on Thursday, June 23rd with an InterFaith Service at the Tabernacle Church at 7pm and culminating with a Pride Drag Brunch at the Derby Restaurant on Sunday, June 26th at 11am this four day celebration is sure to be filled with love and support.

There are many ways to support the LGBTQIA community this June in Salem MA, and one of the best ways is to directly buy from LGBTQ+ businesses and artists. Show your support on Saturday, June 25th at the Salem Common from 11am to 5pm for the one day only LGBTQ Festival. The Festival will offer community services, merchandise, amazing entertainment, and food trucks for a full-day celebration of the gay community. Stroll through the festival while you listen to the musical stylings of DJ and Emcee Triana. Festival organizers will raise the largest Progress Flag on the North Shore! #Proudtobeback

After you stop by the LGBTQ Festival make your way over to Essex Street to watch the North Shore Pride Parade go by while you wave your rainbow flag. The parade will start at Shedland Park and end at the Salem Common following a route that cuts through the Downtown District. Don’t worry the celebration doesn’t end there! North Shore Pride will be hosting a Pride After Party at the Marina Beer Garden, Salem’s newest waterfront Beer Garden on 225 Derby Street. Marina’s will be be preparing an extensive drink list to celebrate Pride Weekend with DJ Andrea spinning pride inspired jams. Get your pals together and play some games while you sip on your drinks next to the water. The after party will run from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday the 25th so that guests can dance until its dark out. For our friends under the age of 21 Nagly will be hosting a Pride Youth After Party . Go check out this amazing organization and have a great time meeting other LGBTQ+ Youth! The Peabody Essex Museum will also be hosting a “Rainbow Sponge Posters” art event to celebrate the Pride weekend. Grab your sponges and your paint and join the PEM to create beautiful rainbow posters on Saturday June 25th and Sunday June 26th from 1pm to 3pm on both days.

If you have a sweet tooth and want to continue to show support to the LGBTQ+ community over the month of June the Curly Girl Candy Shop will be highlighting NAGLY as their  Sweet Support organization for the month of June. They will have a beautiful pride display up, and are highlighting the special edition Skittle Pride Packs. Each of the limited edition Pride packs was designed by a different LGBTQ+ artist. Stop by and grab one as a snack as you walk around Downtown!

Finish out the weekend with Drag Brunch at the Derby Restaurant from 11am to 2pm. The performance will be hosted by North Shore Pride and feature one of Salem’s favorite Drag Queens, Mizery McRae, and her Resilient Bunch. Cap of your pride experience with a belly full of good food and some laughs with friends.

If you still haven’t had enough pride after a weekend jam packed with festivities and events the Real Pirate’s Museum has got you covered. Join in on the first collaboration between Real Pirates Salem and Intramersive, to celebrate Pride the way they know best – with pirates and a chance to go on account! Famous pirates and lovers, Mary Read and Anne Bonny will be the topics of discuss, and are true pirate pride icons. You can purchase tickets here!
