This year the beloved Salem Independence Day Celebration is back again on Thursday, July 4th, on Derby Wharf, Salem Maritime National Historic Site. Festivities kick-off at 5:00 pm with the return of the locally loved Kids’ Space, giveaways, and more! There will be a performance by Latin Breeze on the Main Stage sponsored by Salem Jazz and Soul Festival. Enjoy the beautiful waterfront view that sweeps across the Salem Maritime National Historic Site venue. At 7:15 Opening Ceremonies will begin with the Hillyer Festival Orchestra Concert spanning two hours and including a ‘POPS’ concert by their forty-piece ensemble. Make sure you are in your seat at 9:15 to view the firework extravaganza that will illuminate the night sky and the Salem Harbor.

GABLES MEMBER EVENT: CELEBRATE THE FOURTH
Join us for a lovely evening as we celebrate the country and Nathaniel Hawthorne’s birthday. With the best view of the fireworks in town, The Gables is the ideal spot for July 4th. Bring a blanket and chairs, and relax on the seaside lawn. The wildly popular food truck, The Lobster Roller, will be on-site for you to purchase classic American foods! There will also be lawn games and the traditional cutting of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s birthday cake by Hawthorne himself.
Mahi Mahi Fireworks Cruise
Nothing beats watching the Fireworks on the water! They promise once you’ve experienced it, Mahi will become your new 4th of July tradition! Hop on board the Hannah Glover or the Finback and escape the crowds for an unforgettable view of the fireworks show. They ask that if you are cruising with children you purchase tickets for the Hannah Glover. We will only be allowing passengers 21+ on the Finback.
July 4 Fireworks Sail
Celebrate our favorite holiday with us! Each July 4, Fame celebrates the nation’s birthday (and the taking of her first prizes off New Brunswick in 1812) with an extended cruise followed by a front-row seat for Salem’s fireworks display!
The fireworks are set off on Derby Wharf, just 100 yards from Fame’s dock, so we have an unbeatable view. It’s a magical evening and the best way to celebrate July 4.
This cruise sells out every year, so plan ahead. No discounts are available for this trip. Cruise departs at 7 p.m. (allow extra time for parking!), and the fireworks generally end around 9:45 p.m.

Join Notch Brewing for their 4th of July party, with hot dogs, lager beer and a perfect view of the fireworks over the harbor. Enjoy waterfront views with the firework celebration kicking off at 9:15 right down the road.
