This year the beloved Salem Independence Day Celebration is back again on Tuesday, July 4th, on Derby Wharf, Salem Maritime National Historic Site. Festivities kick-off at 5 pm with the Adam Matthew Trio on the Main Stage sponsored by Salem Jazz and Soul Festival. There will also be a plethora of pre-concert activities including food tents, and free children’s patriotic crafts giveaways to enjoy with a beautiful waterfront view. At 7:15 Opening Ceremonies will begin with the Hillyer Festival Orchestra Concert spanning two hours and including a ‘POPS’ concert by their forty-piece ensemble with vocal soloists performing opera to Broadway favorites. Make sure you are in your seat at 9:15 to view the firework extravaganza that will illuminate the night sky and the Salem Harbor. Looking for more 4th of July activities?
