Emerging as true trailblazers in the hip-hop scene since 1991, Arrested Development stands as a cultural beacon of consciousness and empowerment worldwide. Their innovative blend of eclectic African sounds and vibrant clothing has created a distinctive rhythm and style, setting them apart from the conventional images often associated with hip-hop culture.

Known for their unwavering support of significant movements and organizations such as the National Coalition for the Homeless and the African National Congress (ANC), Arrested Development has consistently championed vital causes.

With a remarkable discography and numerous world tours, the group has redefined hip-hop culture. Their acclaimed album “3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life of…” garnered them two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Single for “Tennessee,” along with accolades from MTV, a Soul Train Music Award, and the NAACP Image Award. Recognized as Band of the Year by Rolling Stone in 1992, they also earned a spot on VH-1’s list of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time. Their iconic track “Tennessee” has even been honored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll. Sharing stages with influential figures like Nelson Mandela, Minister Louis Farrakhan, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Barack Obama, they embody the essence of legendary status.

Continuing their legacy, Arrested Development is dedicated to creating music steeped in self-reflection and revolution. Their double album, ‘Bullets in the Chamber’, features collaborations with hip-hop icons such as Chuck D, Sky Zoo, Canibus, Diana King, Ras Kass, O’hene Savant, Twan Mack, MRK SX, Do it All Dupree, Grandmaster Caz, Sol Messiah, and Sa-Roc, with special appearances by Montsho Eshe and Rasa Don.

Their latest project, “Adult Contemporary Hip-Hop,” executively produced by Speech for Vagabond Productions and Configa for Configaration Records, showcases their innovative spirit. With singles “All I See Is Melanin” and “Pack It Out,” released on July 4th, the band delivers unmatched lyricism, soulful storytelling, and profound awareness, exemplifying the unique artistry that only Arrested Development can provide.
