Hammond Castle Museum offers guided and self-guided tours, as well as specialty Candlelight and Spiritualism Tours from April through December, alongside special events and programs year-round. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Museum was once the home and laboratory of John Hays Hammond Jr. (1888–1965), one of the nation’s most prolific inventors of his time.
Perched atop a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Hammond Castle Museum is a STEAM organization (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) that also serves as a historic house museum and lapidarium. By highlighting extraordinary works of stone and marble, we create a unique experience that sets us apart from traditional museums. This innovative blend of history, science, and art makes Hammond Castle Museum a true New England treasure.
