This year’s Salem’s So Sweet Chocolate & Ice Sculpture Festival takes place February 1-14, 2021 all around downtown Salem, Massachusetts! This annual event has been modified to reflect current public health guidelines, and organizers and participating businesses are excited to offer a safe opportunity to get outside and explore Salem.
The expanded festival runs for two full weeks, including two weekends with one weekend themed around SWEET and other HEAT. The SWEET weekend will run February 6-7 with the traditional elements of Salem’s So Sweet. including more than 15 ice sculptures around town that will be illuminated by Retonica 5-9 pm. The HEAT weekend takes place February 13-14, and comes with warming stations around downtown and a new emphasis on spicy as a complement to sweet. During this weekend, Love Letters to Salem will pop up around town and visitors and locals alike can search for fragments of a letter between Nathaniel and Sophia Hawthorne for a chance to win a prize!
In addition to the weekend events, downtown businesses will feature chocolate specials and sweet discounts for the full two week festival. Participating businesses and their promotions will be listed online at salemsosweet.com.
