Salem’s Signature Parks

The City of Salem is revitalizing six of its most beloved public parks through the Signature Park Project — an investment in greener, more welcoming spaces that encourage residents and visitors to enjoy nature and connect with the community.

Forest River Park – Step off the beaten track and into Salem’s beloved 29-acre waterfront oasis featuring rolling hills, beaches, a newly renovated pool, and the iconic cardboard slide, the perfect place to bring a picnic and unwind from a busy day of sightseeing. 

Palmer Cove Park – Discover this waterfront park in Salem’s El Punto neighborhood, featuring the striking “Dominican Faceless Dolls” sculptures that celebrate immigrant culture and women’s stories. Explore the nearby Punto Urban Art Museum, home to over 75 world-renowned large-scale murals within a 4-block radius.

Pioneer Village – Relive the magic of Hocus Pocus by seeing Thackery Binx’s original village! At Pioneer Village, you can travel back in time to experience authentic 1630s colonial life in New England at the country’s first living history Museum.

Salem Common – Enjoy Salem’s historic town green, a central gathering place that has served the community for centuries and provides the perfect spot for picnics while exploring downtown’s attractions. 

Salem Willows – Relax among the iconic willow trees at this classic New England amusement park area, which, in the summer, offers an arcade, fried clams, and stunning harbor views that have delighted families for generations. 

 

Winter Island – Explore this scenic 54-acre peninsula featuring a historic lighthouse, camping facilities, and spectacular harbor views just minutes from downtown.
